      To find out who your local trading standards is, follow the steps as explained under the registration section.

      The list of exempted activities (in terms of registration under the Feed Hygiene Legislation EC 183) can be found on page 7 in the Food Standards Agency Feed Law Practice Guidance.

      However, you still need to comply with the legislation regarding the feeding of Animal By-Products and in particular avoid the feeding of any feedstuffs that may have been in contact with prohibited ABPs.

      You may wish to share this tool with the supplier of the surplus food you wish to use as feed to ensure the feed is safe and legal.
