Web portal ‘Food losses and food waste’

Overview

In order to provide an overview of the current state of knowledge on current research work and existing global initiatives, technological innovations and existing scientific expertise, a web portal was set up at the Thuenen Institute for Rural Areas in 2016.

On this basis, it is planned to develop a relevant joint action strategy within the framework of the G20 – “Agricultural Chief Scientists” network and with the involvement of other international organisations. In addition to advising the Federal Government on relevant research enquiries and supporting the web portal, the Thuenen Institute, as a BMEL departmental research institution, organised an international workshop in June to launch the multi-year initiative.
