Overview
DISCO BÔCÔ tackles food waste by raising public awareness through organising community events to make jams, chutneys, pickles and vegetable purees in a unique, fun and musical atmosphere.
The ingredients are surplus fruits and vegetables collected from supermarkets, markets or directly from the fields, therefore diverting food that would otherwise be wasted into food products for consumption.
The feasibility study aimed at prototyping as many different DISCO BÔCÔ formats as possible in order to build best practices. Activities started in December 2013 with 20 sessions organised during 2014 in nine cities in France.
