Overview

OLIO is a free food sharing app connecting people who have food that they don’t need (households & local businesses) with neighbours living nearby who would like it. We’ve been featured by the BBC, Wired, Canal+ and many more. Since launching in the UK in January 2016, over 600,000 users have signed up who have together shared over three-quarters of a million portions of food, which is the environmental equivalent of taking 2 million car miles off the road! This growth has been thanks to our 20,000+ volunteers (Ambassadors) who have stepped forward to spread the word about OLIO in their local community. And our 2,000+ volunteers (Food Waste Heroes) who collect and redistribute unsold food from our retail partners who include Pret a Manger, Sainsburys and Virgin Trains. OLIO is available to be used all over the world, and so far food has been successfully shared in 32 countries! Globally, half of all food listings are requested in less than 2 hours.
