Overview
The German-Dutch pilot project “Sustainable Health” focuses on the development and creation of support tools in five hospitals and nursing homes in the border region Arnhem-Nijmegen-Kleve in order to achieve a sustainable organization of the food supply. The goals are to improve the resource efficiency of catering, along with realising cost savings in the health care system. The preparation of tasty, healthy food should have a positive effect on the health of patients. In addition to the reduction of food waste, alternative, higher-value options for the use of unavoidable food waste are identified.
